The Cluster for Logistics, CorpPearls and EY Luxembourg, in partnership with the Ministry of Mobility and Public Works, invited to an innovation and start-up pitch event Inspiring Innovation: The Future of Autonomous Driving & Supply Chain at the Luxembourg Venture Days on 16th October 2024.

Anthony Cannella, Partner, TMT and EYnovation Leader welcomed the 40 guests at the venue in the LuxExpo.

Joost Ortjens, Head of International Business Development - Automotive at Luxinnovation presented the mobility projects in Luxembourg and emphasized the importance of pony.ai. Andreas Reschka, Senior Director of Product, Systems, and Safety at pony.ai was called in from the US and gave an overview on their plans in robotaxi deployment in Luxembourg.

Panel Moderator Tobias Verlende, Managing Partner of CorpPearls, discussed the potential for private and institutional investors in the sector with Owen Reynolds from TEKLAS Ventures and Stephane Petti from EIB.

Meet the four Start-up companies that pitched their Ideas:

YAAK - www.yaak.ai - Søren Halskov Nissen, Co-Founder & CEO

Yaak is building multimodal data visualization, peta byte scale search of multimodal data and open source foundation models for the pioneers of spatial intelligence within robotics and autonomous driving. Yaak's foundation model is trained on expert curated drive data from driving school vehicles carrying sensors, across all of Germany and soon globally together with a new global deployment partner. Driving instructors demonstrate expert behavior to the foundation model, and bookmark driving mistakes during driving lessons, curating the largest unbiased dataset of driving mistakes.

Hybrid Lidar Systems - www.hybrid-lidar.com - Ingo Dietterle, CEO

Hybrid Lidar Systems has invented a new method to measure distance with light. This patented hybrid method has a resolution 10 times higher than the competition and is always 50% cheaper due to the system. This overcomes the bottleneck of autonomous driving.

IVEX - ivex.ai -  Mario Torres, CEO

AI-based provider of simulation and validation systems for autonomous vehicles. The platform develops software systems for the simulation and validation of high-level behavior planning and decision-making technologies used in autonomous vehicles. The software assesses autonomous vehicles based on safety constraints, regulation rules, complex real-life scenarios, and moral perceptions.

OTIV - www.otiv.ai - Sam De Smet, Co-founder

Develops AI-enabled self-driving & ADAS solutions for rails. It develops a full software stack for autonomous driving equipped with ADAS solutions. The ADAS system offers a passive and active driver assistant system. Passive systems will provide information and notify drivers in crucial situations. The active system takes control when the driver takes insufficient action. It offers features like collision avoidance, (corner) speed control, blind-spot detection, and more.

Tobias Verlende and Daniel Kohl, Director of the Cluster for Logistics closed the event.

The Cluster for Logistics thanks all the participants of the event and the organizers of Luxembourg Venture Days.
